Jilted C-list celebs get revenge and ratings on reality TV

Actor Charlie Sheen might have tied the knot for the third time recently, but his second ex-wife seems to be getting the last laugh with her successful E! reality series “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.”
When the show made its debut over Memorial Day weekend, Richards’ divorcee tales attracted 1.5 million viewers, a nice coup for basic cable. But the actress is also a part of a bigger movement that far surpasses impressive ratings. Richards is on the reality TV revenge path, and she’s in good company.
Nora Ephron wrote a book and later a movie called “Heartburn” two decades ago that shamed her ex-husband, Carl Bernstein, the famous investigative reporter. And Olivia Goldsmith’s book “The First Wives Club” also inspired a film of the same name about ex-wives seeking revenge.
