Pupils at Cardinal Heenan Catholic high school in West Derby will have their short film Father And Son judged by a panel of experts after it was nominated in the First Light Movie Awards 2008.

The mini movie is up for best screenplay at the awards, where Oscar winners Sam Mendes and Julian Fellows will also be on the panel.

Year 9 pupils Luke Anderson and Sam Doran will represent their school at the glittering awards ceremony, which is to be hosted by TV presenter Davina McCall at the Odeon cinema in London’s Leicester Square on March 4.
