Set to arrive in theaters in less than a year, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has been clouded in mystery while currently in production. Plot details and the big-picture concept behind the grand-scale epic have avoided being on anybody’s radar.
The film was first reported in 2009, and named as an untitled prequel to Scott’s 1979 Alien.
In response to a source claiming it had access to the storyline, 20th Century Fox finally released the film's official plot synopsis which doesn’t reveal any plot details.
Fox’s synopsis reads: Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.
The film stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Fassbender and Ben Foster.
