Patrick Swayze dies at 57 from cancer

Actor Patrick Swayze has succumbed to pancreatic cancer and passed away among loved ones at the age of 57. The actor was known as the classic Lothario with the great moves in ‘Dirty Dancing’ and playing dead next to Demi Moore in ‘Ghost’. He talked about his cancer frankly earlier this year with Barbara Walters during an interview about his battle. Swayze also had the opportunity to finish the great, edgy Chicago cop series ‘The Beast’ which will probably ending up being a great swan song to a strong acting career.
“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but declined to give further details.
