INTERVIEW: Director Doug Liman on making ‘Jumper’
By Behind The Scenes TV on Feb 14, 2008 in Directors, Interview, New Movies
Jumper hits theater screens everywhere tomorrow. Its director, Doug Liman, talked with IESB about how important this project is to him and what he may have in mind for a sequel.
After his indie hit Swingers more than ten years ago, Liman has made a name for himself as a big-budget Hollywood director whose credits include such box office hits as The Bourne Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Jumper stars Hayden Christensen as a young man who discovers he has the ability to teleport himself anyway – a gift he quickly uses to his own benefit. Liman talked eagerly about his views on the modern “superhero” and why he’s made the effort with this film to do things a little differently.
