If you’re a big fan of action movies, then 'The Hurt Locker' DVD is a must see. There weren’t that many actions movie in 2009 that captivated audiences and the Hurt Locker DVD release is ready to thrill you, so make sure to order the DVD that will add taste and prestige to your collection.

The Hurt Locker DVD release date was January 12, 2009 and it has been charting the DVD rental charts furiously. Besides the intense setting and action sequences of the film, the DVD includes some really cool special features to understand the world of the soldiers in a bomb squad unit. Among them is 'The Hurt Locker - Behind The Scenes'.

The "Behind the Scenes" feature runs 12 and a half minutes in length. Much of it appears to have been shot on the fly from the set with a mixture of media, from high-quality HD cameras to a fixed film camera for the sit-down interviews with the cast and crew to standard candid video footage taken behind the scenes. It's still pretty much what you'd expect from a "making of" feature.

The movie went through some intense periods during its production on location in Jordan after the production couldn't gain access to a U.S. military base in Kuwait.  During the first week of shooting (during the summer in Jordan) there was a heat wave. It was so hot that the cinematographer, Barry Ackroyd, took sick with heat stroke. In addition, actor Jeremy Renner tripped and fell down some stairs while carrying an Iraqi boy on the film's set. Shooting was stopped for several days while Renner's ankle healed.

The movie is an intense portrayal of elite soldiers who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs in the heat of combat. When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. James behaves as if he's indifferent to death. As the men struggle to control their wild new leader, the city explodes into chaos, and James' true character reveals itself in a way that will change each man forever.

With a talented cast led by Renner and Anthony Mackie and featuring Ralph Fiennes and David Morse, this will be one hell of a movie to watch with the sound streaming through your surround sound. The Hurt Locker DVD is available for order.
