Heath Ledger: Campaign to bury drug video

Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood were behind a campaign to force Entertainment Tonight to dump a video of Heath Ledger discussing drugs at a party, it has been revealed.

The tabloid TV show claimed it decided to pull the clip "out of respect for Heath Ledger's family", but the program was also under intense pressure from one of the most powerful public relations firms in Hollywood. Among the celebrities to contact Entertainment Tonight (ET) to complain about the video were Natalie Portman and Sarah Jessica Parker.

But they were not alone, PR firms representing Sean Penn, Mike Myers and Jake Gyllenhaal also registered their dismay at plans to air the video.

Ledger, 28, died in his Manhattan apartment last week. The cause of his death is still pending the outcome of toxicology tests.
