How To Create Your Own Trailer (From Existing Movies)

How cool would it be to create your own trailer and not shoot a foot of film?

When Jaron Pitts made a fake Green Lantern trailer by cobbling together scenes from Firefly and sci-fi movies, he had no idea his cinematic mashups would open big doors in Hollywood.

But his follow-up project, a two-minute spec trailer for a live-action remake of animated Serbian sci-fi film Technotise: Edit & I, caught the eye of Avatar executive producer Laeta Kalogridis, who will shortly begin pitching studios on an English-language adaptation of the European movie (pictured above).

“What I’m trying to do is really just overwhelm people with awe, where they say, ‘Hey maybe this movie could be as good the trailer,’” Texas video whiz Pitts told Wired.com.
