Hollywood viral videos that worked

Some great examples of moving away from traditional trailers to more original content include Disney's short original video they produced to promote the new Muppets movie Green With Envy that is a parody of The Hangover II. The video racked up innumerable views on YouTube and other channels.

Another great example of non-standard content is the interactive YouTube video page for Kung Fu Panda 2 that features a mix of videos of Jack Black and the animated main character, Po.

We also think the promotion for Super 8 has really taken things to another level. For example, they actually placed an interactive video ad for the movie as a playable level inside of the video game, Portal 2. Look for more of this type of social video integration in the future, both on console games as well as inside social games on Facebook.

Netflix price hike angers users, some drop plan

Some Netflix customers called it a slap in the face. Others a betrayal. Many threatened to drop the movie service.

On Wednesday, many of them vented on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere, seething over Netflix Inc.'s decision to raise its prices by up to 60 percent for the millions of subscribers who want to rent DVDs by mail and watch movies online.

"I can definitely afford it but I dropped them on principle," said Joe Turick, a technology engineer in Monroe, N.C., who has been with Netflix for about a decade, cancelled his subscription within an hour of learning of Tuesday's price changes and plans to try competitors.

By Wednesday afternoon, more than 40,000 people had responded to a post on Netflix's Facebook page announcing the change, with some saying they would switch to rivals such as Hulu.com's paid service and to Redbox's DVD-rental kiosks.

What Makes A Good Scary Movie?

A horror film is a movie in which the whole goal is to illicit feelings of shock, disgust, or terror from the audiences watching. It has been around ever since the eighteen hundreds and overlap, sometimes, with other genres as well. "Horror", as a term, can be used in order to describe different movies from ones that involve murderers to ones that are about ghosts. It is also often hard to gage what makes some scary movies scarier than others as well.

The very first scary movies were silent films about demons and cursed locations. In 1910, the first film version of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein was released and was extremely successful in scaring audiences across Europe and North America. The majority of the early full length horror movies were made and produced in Germany, who had, early on, effectively cornered the market. By the early thirties, filmmakers in America jumped into the game with works such as Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

Different things will scare different types of people but the directors and producers of the early thirties and twenties discovered fairly quickly that suspense, sudden plot twists, eerie sound effects, and other factors were more effective at getting people frightened than scary monsters or bloody guts.

The imaginative crew of the Screen Gems writing team bring forth a suspenseful 3D sci-fi film for fans everywhere. In fact, it is considered by many as one of the top movie releases during the 2010 season. One of the biggest reasons is the addition of video game elements that were integrated into the movie.

The story's main character is none other than Alice played by Milla Jovovich. Her self-imposed journey to find those without the virus infection is still ongoing, and the major roles are pretty much the same.
