Q&A: Hal Holbrook talks “Into the Wild,” Oscar nomination, and “Mark Twain Tonight”

If those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it, then those who forget the skewering of their culture are doomed to be skewered again. At least, that’s how Hal Holbrook looks at it.
The 83-year-old actor has appeared on stage, in films and on TV in a diversity of roles over the years, most recently earning a best supporting actorAcademy Award nomination for his role in Sean Penn’s adaptation of Oregon author Jon Krakauer’s book ”Into the Wild.”
