Elegantly poised, Australian Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett would rather be anywhere but a Beverly Hills hotel holding court with the press. “Maybe we can forget the whole thing and just go home,” she says, half smiling.
In town to promote her starring role in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Blanchett is fresh from her surprise win as Best Actress at the recent Venice Film Festival playing a version of Bob Dylan in I’m Not There. “It was cool, wasn’t it?” she questions, with a laugh. “I was very surprised and pleased.”
